Diabetes Australia invests in research to improve understanding and treatment of diabetes and its associated complications, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
Diabetes Australia Research Trust (DART)
The Diabetes Australia Research Trust (DART) is the research arm of Diabetes Australia and supports and develops the field of diabetes research in Australia through providing funding towards the prevention, management and cure for diabetes, as well as enabling and fostering young and upcoming researchers in diabetes research.
DART relies on the generosity and support of member organisations, corporate and individual donors. From the funds it receives, DART spends less than 5 percent on administration with the remainder directed to Australia's best diabetes research projects.
DART's goal is to raise significantly more money to enable the funding of all appropriate research applications presented to it every year. To achieve this requires much greater support from corporations and individuals by way of tax deductible donations, estates or sponsorships.
Each year an expert Diabetes Australia Research Trust panel carefully selects those projects to receive grants after exhaustive peer review and investigation.
