General practitioners continue to provide most of the medical support to people with type 2 diabetes. This is the most recent edition of this guide and it plays an important role in providing a readable summary of current guidelines and recommendations from various sources on the management of type 2 diabetes in the general practice setting.

Outcomes and Indicators for Diabetes Education: National Consensus Position Information and Education for People with Diabetes: a 'Best Practice' Strategy
This report details a systematically derived framework of nationally agreed goals, outcomes and indicators for diabetes education. It provides a benchmark and policy platform for refining and evaluating the consistency, quality and effectiveness of diabetes education services which can be applied nationally and/or at a regional or local service level.
