Diabetes Australia President & CEO meet with the Governor-General
Our President, Mrs Patricia McKenzie and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Lewis Kaplan met with Diabetes Australia Patron, Governor-General of Australia, Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC in early April 2011.
Topics discussed were the UN High Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases being held in New York on 19th and 20th September 2011, the World Diabetes Congress being held in Melbourne in December 2013, and the possibility of minting a 20 cent coin to highlight the World Diabetes Congress in 2013.
The Governor-General was very interested and supportive, and Patricia McKenzie will report back to the Governor-General in due course.
