Eating Disorders Booklet
For young adults with diabetes, a new booklet has been developed. Eating disorders are a considerable issue for people with diabetes. This information resource has been developed for people with type 1 diabetes, their families and friends to explain the different types of eating disorders and why people with type 1 diabetes may have a higher risk of developing an eating disorder. This resource provides details on where to find more information and get help and support across Australia.

Life Guide for Young People with Diabetes on the Move
This is a new DVD/CD available for all young NDSS Registrants aged 16-21. It's a time when most of us will finish school, leave home for the first time, travel, start tertiary study, find jobs, start careers, develop relationships and more. Adding to this mix is the need to keep managing your diabetes and move your care from a paediatric setting to an adult service. The DVD/CD has been made by young people with diabetes who have 'been there, done that' and is a valuable resource for young people to show how to maintain good health and move towards independence.

ATSI Flipcharts
The ATSI flipcharts were developed by Indigenous Australians to help health professionals in Indigenous communities across Australia to raise awareness of diabetes and diabetes management. The 'Keep Culture Family Strong: Know Early About Diabetes' resource was originally developed by Healthy Living NT.

'That Diabetes' DVD
"That Diabetes" Tackling It Together is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander documentary that was produced by Blackfella Films Pty Ltd. The aim of the project was to visually present the harshness, beauty and remoteness of the Australian landscape and to highlight in a culturally sensitive way the difficulties faced by many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in relation to diabetes. The production and distribution of this documentary has been made possible with funding by the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) - an initiative of the Australian Government administered by Diabetes Australia.

Understanding Gestational Diabetes
This DVD explains to women and their families how to manage their gestational diabetes and what to do once the baby is born. In this documentary-style film, women who have had this condition during pregnancy talk positively about their experiences. It is intended that this DVD will give viewers a better understanding of gestational diabetes. This DVD is a multi-lingual resource and comes with the option of selecting from six different languages - English, Vietnamese, Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese and Turkish.
