There is an opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our dynamic team in Canberra, ACT, on a full-time basis. Reporting to the General Manager - Corporate Services, you will be responsible for leading a team of four, whilst managing the financial reporting, management accounting, and all other financial activities for Diabetes Australia. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing financial and management reports and discussing key outcomes with Management;
- Overseeing the production of financial accounts;
- Preparing the annual budget and revising forecasts periodically;
- Managing taxation obligations;
- Overseeing the payroll function and human resource policies and procedures;
- Controlling the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions;
- Providing in-house technical accounting and taxation advice;
- Coordinating all arrangements for annual audits, and
- Monitoring corporate financial policies and procedures and ensuring an appropriate system of financial and accounting controls is maintained.
Diabetes Australia are seeking a CA or CPA qualified accountant, who has extensive experience in one or many of the following sectors: government, medium to large commercial environments and not for profit. A strong understanding of the preparation and management of budgets, alongside the ability to manage payroll, will be paramount to your success in this position.
You'll have a high level of computer literacy alongside a willingness to build upon this knowledge, with the ability to use Microsoft Excel in order to analyse and communicate technical data to a wide range of audiences. Candidates with experience in taxation requirements for not-for-profit organisations will be viewed favourably.
Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will ensure you can effectively build and maintain working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. A hands-on, driven approach coupled with a strong eye for detail will ensure you flourish within this role.
You’ll have strong management experience, with the ability to effectively oversee and lead a small team, providing ongoing mentoring, advice, and performance management.
