Help Diabetes Australia reduce the impact of Australia’s fastest growing chronic condition – diabetes. Your donation will fund research for better treatments and a cure, help raise awareness of diabetes and provide national programs and services for people living with diabetes and those at risk. Join the Cure Club

Join our regular giving program – The Cure Club – and help fund important research discoveries.

The Cure Club raises vital funds for diabetes research and allows you to have your donations deducted automatically each month. From individuals to community groups, small businesses and large corporations – all can be partners of the Cure Club.

Your ongoing monthly donations will help us fast track important research across all types of diabetes and diabetes complications. All funds raised go toward the Diabetes Australia Research Program, which supports and develops outstanding diabetes research in Australia by funding research towards the prevention and management of diabetes or the cure for diabetes.

Donate in lieu of gifts or flowers

For birthdays or special occasions, your guests may wish to make a donation in lieu of presents. This can also be the case for funeral services, where people find comfort in making a donation in lieu of flowers.

The Diabetes Australia Research Program has a donation envelope which can be distributed on occasions where people would like to request donations in lieu of a gift or flowers. To order donation envelopes, please email us or call 02 6232 3800.

Hold a Fundraising Event

If you would like to host a fundraising event, or raise funds for Diabetes Australia by participating in a charity fundraising event, please visit our EveryDay Hero webpage here.

You can use EveryDay Hero to organise your own event such as a morning tea or trivia night and donate proceeds from guests to Diabetes Australia. You can also use EveryDay Hero to raise funds by participating in a charity fundraising event such as City2Sea or Run Melbourne.

It’s free and easy - just set up a profile, select Diabetes Australia Research Program as your charity of choice, and invite your friends, colleagues and family to donate.

Leave a gift in your will

A bequest to Diabetes Australia, no matter how small, will make a difference to the lives of Australians affected by diabetes and could be the key to our next research breakthrough.

If you wish to leave a bequest, you can use the following wording as a guide: "I bequeath to the Diabetes Australia Research Program for research purposes (a specified sum, or specified items, or the residue of my estate), free of all duties. The receipt of the Secretary or other authorised officer shall be a complete and sufficient discharge for the executor(s)."

Most importantly, we recommend that everyone obtains expert legal advice when making or amending a will.

Workplace giving is a win-win solution as it gives employees a tax-effective way of donating to charity, increases engagement and social impact of the business, and ensures regular funds for Diabetes Australia.

As an employee, you can request a donation be made to Diabetes Australia through your payroll team.
