New game helps explain type 1 diabetes 10 June 2016 A new gaming app, developed by Sanofi, helps children understand type 1 diabetes and how to manage diabetes at school. The free app is aimed at 7-12 year olds and is available to download on android, iOS (Apple) and PC devices. Players need to pass through levels, catch stars, earn points and watch educational videos about type 1 diabetes in daily life. At each level, players can read the messages from “the sensei” (the wise man of the school) to get a practical understanding of living with type 1 diabetes and test their knowledge by taking the interactive quiz. The gaming app is also available offline, primary school students can show their teachers and friends the videos or they can go on the mission as well. The app builds community awareness; parents, carers, teachers and friends are provided educational information in a virtual school setting. It’s fun, educational and free! For android, download it here For ios (Apple), download it here Note: T1D Mission App download times vary as the file is quite large (up to 5mins download time).
