DiaBuddies fun in Orange and Newcastle! 25 September 2019 Thank you to all the families that joined us for our DiaBuddies Days in September. Sixty children attended Flip Out in Orange for a fun day of flipping and jumping on trampolines, challenging each other at Nerf Tag, teaming up for sport games and creating colourful sand art. While in Newcastle 135 children enjoyed inflatable fun at Newcastle Indoor Sports plus a silent disco, provided by Party Higher, where the kids and adults were able to strike their best moves and get involved in the various activities and challenges run by the DJ. Feedback from the day included: “DiaBuddies Day was fantastic and it’s great to meet so many locals. It always surprises me. My child enjoys having a day with other children who understand and will help when required.” “We would like to thank all the staff who ran the day. So friendly, caring and supportive. This day was a lot more than what we expected. Being our first time we all walked away with a huge smile.” “I was impressed with the card number game and how you linked people with a type 1 child of a similar age. Very, very clever! I have now exchanged numbers with that mother and we’ll keep in contact.” DiaBuddies Days are organised to enable families with kids with type 1 diabetes to come together to celebrate life and form supportive connections with each other on the journey with diabetes.
