New diabetes school plans in Victoria for 2015 2 December 2014 A suite of plans has been developed to provide a consistent approach to diabetes management at schools and preschools in Victoria. Produced by a working party established at the request of the DEECD earlier this year, the new plans are expected to be introduced at the start of the 2015 school year.A transition time will be needed to facilitate full notification and use of the new documentation – it is anticipated that all schools and preschools with a child who has type 1 diabetes enrolled will be using the new plans by 1 July 2015. DEECD approval and endorsement has been obtained and a policy outlines the required use of the action and management plans. This information can be found on the department of education’s website. Plans are available to view and download via the DA-Vic website.
