Diabetes Victoria CEO Craig Bennett retires 25 March 2022 A special message from Diabetes Australia Group CEO Justine Cain: “Today marks the end of an era, as Diabetes Victoria CEO Craig Bennett retires from the organisation he has lead tirelessly for the past nine years. He has led Diabetes Victoria as a modern, inclusive organisation committed to supporting people with diabetes. One of his most important achievements has been ensuring that the lived experience of people with diabetes is central to all aspects of the organisation. This includes establishing a vibrant Consumer Advisory Committee to tap into the rich knowledge and experience of the diabetes community. Craig has also been a major supporter of diabetes research including helping to secure more Diabetes Australia Research Program funding for Victoria and attracting more support for the Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes. Finally, he has established a strong evaluation capability within Diabetes Victoria to ensure the organisation’s programs and services are effective and evidence-based. On behalf of Australia’s diabetes community, I’d like to thank Craig for all his hard work. Your contribution will not be forgotten.”
