Add diced beef and brown (may need to do this in batches). Add vegetables and garlic to the beef. Cook for a further 5 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, stock, paprika, salt, pepper and bay leaf. Simmer, covered for approximately 2 hours until tender. Remove bay leaf and serve.
