Naked Tofu Burgers This burger has as much protein a traditional beef burger! Crumble into a large bowl. Add carrot, onion, garlic, almond meal, tahini, soy sauce, oil and cumin. Mix until fully combined. Let sit for 5 minutes to allow almond meal to absorb some moisture. Shape mixture into 4 firm patties. If the mixture is too soft, add a little more almond meal. Place in the refrigerator for at least one hour to allow patties to become firm. Heat a non-stick fry-pan with a little oil over medium heat. Cook patties 4–5 minutes per side, until golden and firm. Smashed avocado: In a small bowl, roughly mash avocado with the back of a fork. Add a squeeze of lemon juice and a pinch of salt and pepper. Assemble lettuce and sliced tomato on four separate plates. Place one tofu patty on top of each salad. Add a spoon of smashed avocado on top of each burger.
