Diabetes Australia warmly welcomes Chief Health Officer Brett Fenton’s appointment as an Adjunct Clinical Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

This honorary appointment recognises Mr Fenton’s significant expertise and leadership across the diabetes and healthcare sectors, as well as his ongoing contribution to improving outcomes for people living with, or at risk of, diabetes.

The role further strengthens Diabetes Australia’s connection to academic and clinical research, supporting the organisation’s commitment to evidence informed practice, advocacy, and service delivery.

Through the appointment, Diabetes Australia will benefit from closer engagement with contemporary research and emerging evidence, helping to build valuable partnerships and further strengthen its clinical leadership work – supporting its purpose to reduce the impact on people living with, or at risk of, diabetes.

Group CEO Justine Cain said Diabetes Australia is proud of this well-deserved recognition.

Mr Fenton said he was looking forward to building stronger connections between research, education and practice to help ensure the best available evidence informs Diabetes Australia’s work.

“Throughout my career, I have been passionate about ensuring that evidence translates into meaningful improvements in care, services and outcomes for people living with diabetes,” Mr Fenton said.
