Update on Guardian System (4) Transmitter 30 July 2026 The National Diabetes Services Scheme has recently issued an announcement regarding the discontinuation of the Guardian System (4) Transmitter (NDSS Code 985) from 1 September 2026. The Guardian System 4 Transmitter will still be available for those who use the MiniMed™ 780G insulin pump system with Guardian Link (4) and will no longer be approved for standalone use with the Guardian app. Support is available during this transition for people who currently rely on the Guardian System (4) as their continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system. Diabetes Australia remains committed to supporting people living with diabetes through technology changes and ensuring access to reliable information, education and guidance. We encourage anyone affected by this change to begin planning early and to seek advice from their diabetes healthcare team to support a smooth transition before 1 September 2026.
