Expressions of interest now open to join Diabetes Australia’s Community Advisory Council 2 December 2022 Listening to, and understanding the needs of people living with diabetes is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we are establishing a Community Advisory Council to strengthen our engagement with the diabetes community. We are recruiting members to join this new advisory council and are seeking a diverse group of individuals with lived experience of diabetes. We want representation to reflect all types of diabetes and geography. We are also seeking representation from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ communities, rural and remote communities and those representing socioeconomic disadvantaged populations. All places on the advisory council are vacant at present. Meetings will be held quarterly generally via video or teleconference. Members of the advisory council will be reimbursed for reasonable travel, accommodation and other expenses incurred when travelling to or from in person meetings (if any), or when engaged on other activities approved by the Group CEO. Diabetes Australia is embarking on a range of community engagement activities and we encourage people with diabetes to apply for this advisory group and unite with us in the fight for change. Applications close Friday 20 January 2023 at 5pm. Successful applicants will be notified early February. Our first meeting will be in March 2023. Apply using this form.
